Our Statement of Faith…

We believe that the entire Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant and authoritative Word of God to man. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13)

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; Creator of all things. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death and sacrifice for us through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. He is the true God and true man. (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:14-18; Isaiah 7:14,9:6)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is able to live a true life in Christ. (1 Corinthians 12-14)

We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work on the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins. We believe that the only hope for man’s salvation is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22; Romans 5:11)

We believe that water baptism by immersion declares true change of citizenship; public declaration of the Lordship of Christ Jesus; death to life. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:34-36, 19:1-6)

We believe in the Church as the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with each born-again believer as an integral, divinely-placed, functioning member. There is one true universal and worldwide church, made up of genuine believers, but is composed of many local churches in given localities. (Ephesians 22:21-22, 3:16; Acts 15:22, Matthew 16:18, 18:15-20)

Spiritual and Moral Goals

The theological foundation for Spiritual and moral goals

-The educational philosophy of CCS is based upon a God-centered view of man and truth as presented in the Bible, as detailed by our Statement of Faith.

-Since we believe God created and sustains all things through his son Jesus, the universe and all life are dynamically related to God and have the purpose of glorifying Him. Man was created in God’s image with the unique capacity to respond to God voluntarily.

-Because man is sinful by nature and by choice, he cannot in a sinful condition, know or honor God in his/her life. The goal of education should therefore be to enable man to personally know God, encourage them to love Him, and equip them to serve Him.

-The authority for such an education cannot come solely from the school. It comes both from God’s command that the children be taught to love God and put him first in their lives, and from the parents who are responsible for the overall education and training of their children. At the request of the parents, the Christian schools, along with the local church, become partners in their education. From this philosophy come our missions and goals.

1. To teach the Bible as God’s inspired Word and to develop attitudes of love and respect towards it. (2 Timothy 3:16; Deuteronomy 6:1-2)

2. To teach the basic doctrines of the Bible. (Joshua 1:7-8; Matthew 28:20; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

3. To provide an environment which helps lead each student to a personal relationship with Christ as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9)

4. To help disciple each student to have a desire to know and obey the will of God as revealed in the Scriptures.  (Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 5:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-3)

5. To assist the parents in equipping the student to carry out the will of God daily.                                                (Colossians 3:20; Luke 10:27; 1 Thessalonians 3:13; Matthew 6:48; Luke 9:23)

6. To impart an understanding of each Christian’s place in the church and its worldwide task of evangelism and discipleship to encourage the student’s involvement in this mission.                                                                                                           (Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 2:2)

7. To help develop the student’s character and grow them in the “Mind of Christ”; to demonstrate a model of how to live an overcoming life through self-restraint and consideration of others. (Romans 12:21, 15:1-3; 1 Corinthians 10:12-13; Philippians 2:14-15, 4:13)

8. To teach self-discipline and responsibility based on respect for and submission to God and God-ordained authority. (Romans 13:1-3; 2 Thessalonians 3:6-10; Hebrews 13:17)

9. To help the student to develop a Christian world-view by approaching all aspects of life from a Biblical perspective. (Romans 12:1-2; Genesis 1:27-29)

Mission

Cornerstone Christian School will endeavor to provide quality education in a Christ-centered environment. We are committed to helping each child realize their God-given potential; spiritually, physically, intellectually, and morally (Colossians 3:23). It is our goal to assist parents in training their children to know God intimately, grow as lifelong learners, and sow God’s kingdom where he plants them. Jesus Christ is the head of our ministry, the staff are His instruments, and the children His purpose.

Vision

The vision of Cornerstone is to bring hope to our generation through education in a setting based on effective and relevant education, Biblically enforced discipline, and a caring community environment. Through this, students will pursue the life and career to which God has called them, all while being salt and light to the world (Matthew 5:13).
